Worldwide, abortion rights are under pressure. What is the situation in the Netherlands, what are the obligations under the UN Women’s Convention, and how can we protect access to safe, legal abortion now and in the future?

 

Come join us at Kargadoor on 18 September 2025 to listen, discuss and connect in regard to a topic of great impact. From 10:00-16:00h inspiring speakers will introduce recent developments and thorough insights into safeguarding abortion rights in a Dutch context. Speakers Genoveva Tisheva (vice-voorzitter CEDAW), Rebecca Gomperts (Women on Waves), Karolina Kocemba (Erasmus University), Trudy Dehue (Groningen University) and panel speakers Fleur van Leeuwen (Utrecht University) , Linde Bryk (Bureau Clara Wichmann) and Laura van Stein (AVAHelpt) will illustrate several aspects throughout the symposium.
